Anyway, I wanted to do a picture like this, but the original idea was to use russian formalists, and call it "formalism is not dead" instead... turns out russian formalists don't have as cool beards as you might expect, so where to turn? Marx of course! One of the greatest beards in the modern age! As for the technical stuff, I did it in Painter 9, with several reference photos. You might recognise the one I used for Marx, it's pretty common I think. Noise and text was added in Photoshop.. it's a bit sad I had to resize it so much to make it a manageable size, the original is almost twice as big, and I really like the stroke details.. but nevermind. Ey! O! Let's go! |
